Compared to the 2020 vintage, the Isole delle Falcole 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione immediately strikes you for its more subdued and understated approach. That s not to say that it lacks intensity, because it does not; it is just less immediate. You get dried currants, mint, spice, earth and almond over a medium to full-bodied finish. I look forward to tasting more from this very young, up-and-coming estate. Production is 3,200 bottles.

Polished and inviting nose of rhubarb, red plums, cinnamon and dried coconut. It’s medium-bodied and nicely spiced and firm while remaining supple. Tasty caramel undertones. Drink from 2024.
